Eimeria and Tyzzeria (Protozoa:Eimeriidae) from Deermice (Peromyscus spp.) in Illinois
The Journal of Parasitology, 1960During the spring and summer of 1958, wild rodents were trapped in the vicinity of Sullivan, Illinois, as part of a leptospirosis survey under the direction of Drs. Deam H. Ferris and Lyle E. Hanson of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and Dr. Rexford D. Lord, Jr. of the Illinois State Natural History Survey.

Effects of clinoptilolite on Eimeria spp. Infection in sheep
Small Ruminant Research, 2011Abstract The effects of supplementation with clinoptilolite, a mineral from sedimentary deposits, were evaluated in a controlled and randomized field study conducted on a sheep farm with a known history of coccidiosis. Two groups of 6 pregnant ewes each, with three replicates per group (3 experimental and 3 control groups) were included in the study.

The Epidemiology of Calf Coccidiosis (Eimeria spp.) in Poland
Parasitology Research, 2007The field survey has been performed to study the epidemiology of calf coccidiosis in Poland. It was found that the Eimeria spp. coccidia occurred on 93.0 % of the investigated farms. But the highly pathogenic species (E. bovis and E. zuernii) were found on 88.4 % of the investigated farms.

Primary structure of a BiP homologue in Eimeria spp.
Parasitology Research, 1996cDNA clones for homologues of a molecular chaperone of the endoplasmic reticulum called the immunoglobulin heavy-chain binding protein (BiP) have been isolated from Eimeria maxima and E. tenella sporozoite cDNA libraries. The E. tenella cDNA clone is of full length and has a predicted N-terminal signal sequence of approximately 30 amino acids and a C ...

Prevalence of Eimeria macusaniensis (Apicomplexa: Eimeriidae) in Midwestern Lama spp.
The Journal of Parasitology, 1999To compare the prevalence of Eimeria macusaniensis among midwestern llamas (Lama glama), alpacas (Lama pacos), and guanacos (Lama guanicoe), feces were obtained from Lama spp. in 10 states between October 1989 and February 1996. Feces were examined by centrifugal flotation in sugar solution (specific gravity--1.28-1.30), and oocysts were quantified by ...

The genome of Eimeria spp., with special reference to Eimeria tenella—a coccidium from the chicken
International Journal for Parasitology, 2000Eimeria spp. contain at least four genomes. The nuclear genome is best studied in the avian species Eimeria tenella and comprises about 60 Mbp DNA contained within ca. 14 chromosomes; other avian and lupine species appear to possess a nuclear genome of similar size.

Molecular characterization of Eimeria sp. from Galápagos giant tortoises (Chelonoidis spp.)
Parasitology Research, 2019Galápagos giant tortoises are an essential component of their ecosystem and evaluation of parasites in their populations is essential for the management of conservation processes. Coccidiosis is the most common intestinal infection in free-living and captive reptiles. The aim of this study was to characterize molecularly the presence of Eimeria sp.

Fecal occult blood manifestation of intestinal Eimeria spp. infection in rabbit
Veterinary Parasitology, 2009The relationship between oocysts production and fecal occult blood manifestation was studied in rabbits experimentally infected with a single species of Eimeria. Pure single Eimeria species infection in non-infected rabbits for 6 species of Eimeria, namely: Eimeria media, Eimeria magna, Eimeria perforans, Eimeria coecicola, Eimeria piriformis, and ...

Quantity of Eimeria spp. oocyst elimination in sheep.
Angewandte Parasitologie, 1987In the present paper, the results obtained are shown after a study by means of multivariant statistical analysis, of the quantity of Eimeria spp. oocyst elimination in sheep, bearing in mind the variations observed in the different areas, in the different age-groups, from month to month, and from year to year. Climatic factors, development of immunity,

The Efficacy of Anticoccidial Products Against Eimeria spp. in Northern Bobwhites
Avian Diseases Digest, 2011To determine whether chemotherapeutic compounds available for use in domestic poultry are effective at controlling coccidiosis in northern bobwhites (Colinus virginianus), we tested 13 chemotherapeutic anticoccidials including amprolium (250 parts per million [ppm]), clopidol (125 ppm), diclazuril (1 ppm and 2 ppm), decoquinate (30 ppm), lasalocid (120
