Interactive classification of porcine Eimeria spp. by computer-assisted image analysis
Veterinary Parasitology, 1999Digitalized pictures of oocysts of Eimeria scabra, E. polita, E. debliecki, E. suis, and E. porci were used to develop a program routine that allows semi-automatic interactive classification of porcine Eimeria spp. with a computer-assisted image analysis system. Morphological parameters (shape, color, length and width of oocysts and length and width of

In a previous study, we have developed several chicken monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against Eimeria acervulina (EA) in order to identify potential ligand molecules of Eimeria. One of these mAbs, 6D-12-G10, was found to recognize a conoid antigen of EA sporozoites and significantly inhibited the sporozoite invasions of host T lymphocytes in vitro ...

Prevalence of Eimeria spp. (Apicomplexa: Eimeriidae) in Oregon llamas.
The Journal of protozoology, 1988Eimeria alpacae, E. punoensis, E. lamae, and E. macusaniensis were identified in fecal samples from 189 llama (Lama glama (L.] adults and 50 llama crias (animals less than one year of age of any species in the genus Lama) from central and western Oregon. In both adults and crias, E. alpacae was the most common species found.

Eimeria spp. from Alpine chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) in Italy
2002Faecal samples from Alpine chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) collected in Italian Eastern Alps in the period from July 1995 to July 1997 proved positive for coccidia. Four Eimeria species were identified, namely E. riedmülleri, E. suppereri (first report in Italy) and E. yakimoffmamatschoulskyi, typical of R. rupicapra, and E.

Eimeria spp. from the chicken: occurrence, identification and genetics.
Acta veterinaria Hungarica, 1997Many fundamental aspects of the biology of Eimeria spp. from the chicken remain poorly understood and some have not been investigated in detail for many years. New molecular tools are now available that could be used to underpin some of the more practical aspects of disease control.
