Nonlinear Dynamics of the Parker Scenario for Coronal Heating [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The Parker or field line tangling model of coronal heating is studied comprehensively via long-time high-resolution simulations of the dynamics of a coronal loop in cartesian geometry within the framework of reduced magnetohydrodynamics (RMHD).

The visibility of women in tenth‐century Rome

open access: yesEarly Medieval Europe, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 522-544, November 2025.
Women played a significant part in tenth‐century Rome, and the documentation makes them visible in a way rarely seen in early medieval sources. First examining the political agency of the foremost among them, women like Marozia and the Theophylact family senatrices, this paper also highlights the socio‐economic, legal and cultural role of many women of

Turbulence, Energy Transfers and Reconnection in Compressible Coronal Heating Field-line Tangling Models

open access: yes, 2009
MHD turbulence has long been proposed as a mechanism for the heating of coronal loops in the framework of the Parker scenario for coronal heating. So far most of the studies have focused on its dynamical properties without considering its thermodynamical

Commemorating Festive Performances in Popular Print in Sixteenth‐Century Italy☆

open access: yesRenaissance Studies, Volume 39, Issue 5, Page 632-657, November 2025.

Kelvin-Helmholtz instability of a coronal streamer

open access: yes, 2013
The shear-flow-driven instability can play an important role in energy transfer processes in coronal plasma. We present for the first time the observation of a kink-like oscillation of a streamer probably caused by the streaming kinkmode Kelvin-Helmholtz

Informing DSGE Models Through Dynamic Factor Models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 487-507, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Structural dynamic factor models (SDFM) represent a reliable tool to inform the construction of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models. The reason is that the log‐linear solution of a DSGE model has a factor structure which ensures consistency between the representations of the two models.

Nighttime and Early Morning Atmospheric Waves and Transient Turbulence at Jezero Crater, Mars, Observed by the Perseverance Rover

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract We study atmospheric oscillations in Jezero crater, Mars, that occur at night and dawn over stable conditions of the planetary boundary layer. These atmospheric oscillations are sporadic and can have large amplitudes, resulting in important variations in the dynamic conditions of the atmosphere.
