Comparative Study of Experimental Methods for Measuring Thermal Properties of 100Cr6 Steel Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the thermal properties of 100Cr6 steel in both bulk and powder forms. Measuring the very low thermal conductivity typically exhibited by powders poses significant challenges. To address this, two novel measurement techniques—temperature gradient and finite laser pulse response—are introduced and evaluated by comparison with the ...

Making Photoresponsive Metal–Organic Frameworks an Effective Class of Heterogeneous Photocatalyst

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes photoresponsive MOFs for photocatalytic applications, focusing on their capacity to enhance light harvesting, charge transfer, and surface reactions. While existing studies provide foundational insights, emerging characterization techniques enable a deeper understanding of photoresponsive MOFs.

Dear Einstein: scientific disclosure in the scientist's correspondences to children

open access: yesRevista de Ensino de Ciências e Matemática
Einstein is one of the names with the greatest impact in the scientific field. Furthermore, the physicist corresponded with children from different parts of the world. The documents can be consulted in the book “Dear professor Einstein: Albert Einstein’s

Virtually Being Einstein Results in an Improvement in Cognitive Task Performance and a Decrease in Age Bias

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2018
The brain's body representation is amenable to rapid change, even though we tend to think of our bodies as relatively fixed and stable. For example, it has been shown that a life-sized body perceived in virtual reality as substituting the participant's ...

On Multiple Einstein Rings

open access: yes, 2008
A number of recent surveys for gravitational lenses have found examples of double Einstein rings. Here, we investigate analytically the occurrence of multiple Einstein rings.

Highly Off‐Centering Cations in Pavonite‐Structured Ag1.75InSb5.75Se11 with Competitive Thermoelectric Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Off‐centering of cations in pavonite‐structured Ag1.75InSb5.75Se11 (AISS) breaks crystal symmetry, inducing Rashba‐like band splitting and high band degeneracy, thus enhancing Seebeck coefficients. Soft bonds between off‐centered cations and Se atoms increase phonon scattering, achieving low lattice thermal conductivity (0.22 W m−1K−1 at 723 K). Doping

Generalized Pythagorean Fuzzy Geometric Aggregation Operators Using Einstein t‐Norm and t‐Conorm for Multicriteria Decision‐Making Process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Intelligent Systems, 2017
The objective of this paper is to present some series of geometric‐aggregated operators under Pythagorean fuzzy environment by relaxing the condition that the sum of the degree of membership functions is less than one with the square sum of the degree of

Spatial entanglement patterns and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering in Bose-Einstein condensates [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2017
Splitting the entanglement When particles in a quantum mechanical system are entangled, a measurement performed on one part of the system can affect the results of the same type of measurement performed on another part—even if these subsystems are ...

Improving the Capacity Retention of Poly(vinylphenothiazine) as Battery Electrode Material by Pore Size Engineering of Porous N‐Doped Carbon Nanospheres as Conductive Additive

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By using (meso)porous N‐doped carbon nanospheres with tailored intraparticle porosity and constant particle size as conductive carbon in PVMPT‐based organic battery electrodes, the complete volume of the carbon is accessible for the immobilization of PVMPT, resulting in high accessible specific capacities while maintaining a good rate capability and ...
