Asymmetric Electrostrain/Electrobending in Piezoelectric Ceramics: Role of Defect Dipoles or Oxygen Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Defect‐configurational origins of the asymmetric apparent electrostrain are revealed in different piezoelectric ceramics via atomic‐scale visualization of defect configurations. Migration of oxygen vacancies leads to the electrobending effect in N2‐sintered BaTiO3, while defect dipoles in Ba0.99TiO2.99 generate true asymmetric electrostrain without ...

Dielectric‐Confinement‐Induced in‐Plane Photoelectric Anisotropy in Isotropic Quasi‐1D γ‐GaS Nanoribbon

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate the geometry‐governed optoelectronic anisotropy arising from dielectric confinement in quasi‐1D γ‐GaS nanoribbons with intrinsically isotropic atomic structures. Dielectric mismatch between the nanoribbon and its surroundings leads to a general polarization‐dependent photoresponse during near‐field scattering.

Minimal Einstein-Aether theory

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We show that there is a phenomenologically and theoretically consistent limit of the generic Einstein-Aether theory in which the Einstein-Aether field equations reduce to Einstein field equations with a perfect fluid distribution sourced by the aether ...

Precisely Printing Perovskite Nanocrystals in Glass via Thermoelectric Synergistic Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the direct migration and enrichment of Cs ions in glass driven by thermoelectric fields, a novel method has been developed to achieve controllable crystallization and patterned distribution of CsPbBr3 PNCs in stable glass. The distribution scale of PNCs strongly depends on the thermoelectric processing conditions (temperature, electric field ...

Projective Einstein Finsler metrics

open access: yes, 2008
In the present paper, we investigate the necessary and sufficient condition of a given Finsler metric to be Einstein. The considered Einstein Finsler metric in the study describes all different kinds of Einstein metrics which are pointwise projective to ...
