Retrograde ejaculation is an uncommon cause of male infertility. It should be suspected in any case of azoospermia, and might be congenital, acquired or idiopathic in origin. When pharmacological attempts to restore anterograde ejaculation fail, it is suggested that spermatozoa should be recovered from post-ejaculation urine to be applied in one of the

Premature ejaculation – Dopaminergic control of ejaculation
Drug Discovery Today: Therapeutic Strategies, 2005Premature ejaculation has been described as the most common form of male sexual dysfunction. Although there has been increased interest in all aspects of male sexual dysfunction, knowledge of ejaculation and its disorders is still patchy. The physiology of ejaculation includes emission of sperm with the accessory gland fluid into the urethra, simultaneous closure of the urethral sphincters, and forceful ejaculation of semen through the urethra. Emission and closure of the bladder neck are primarily alpha-adrenergically mediated thoracolumbar sympathetic reflex events with supraspinal ...

A 59-year-old man was seen in the Cardiology Clinic with a long history of recurrent syncope. These episodes would occur predictably during sexual intercourse at the point of ejaculation. He experienced prodromal symptoms including lightheadedness followed by syncope for approximately 10 s, with gradual recovery.

The normal physiologic processes of emission and ejaculation require coordination of neurophysiologic, anatomic, and, in certain cases, psychological phenomena. Disruption of any component, from the embryologic development of the müllerian duct through the medications used for nonrelated systemic disease, can alter the efficient function of ejaculation.
