In this note our aim is to give a proof of the Pontryagin maximum principle for a general optimal control problem with running state constraints and smooth dynamics. Our proof is based on the classical Ekeland variational principle.

With a recent result of Suzuki (2001) we extend Caristi-Kirk's fixed point theorem, Ekeland's variational principle, and Takahashi's minimization theorem in a complete metric space by replacing the distance with a τ-distance.

O Teorema da aplicação inversa de Ekeland em espaços de Fréchet [PDF]
In this work, we study the Ekeland's inverse function theorem in Fr echet spaces, that was published by Ekeland [8] in 2011. Initially, we present an inverse function theorem in Banach spaces (that is more general than the classical inverse function ...

The Ekeland variational principle for Henig proper minimizers and super minimizers
In this paper we consider, for the first time, approximate Henig proper minimizers and approximate super minimizers of a set-valued map F with values in a partially ordered vector space and formulate two versions of the Ekeland variational principle for ...

Equivalents to Ekeland's Variational Principle in F-type Topological Spaces
We shall show that a recent version of Ekeland's principle in F-type topological spaces due to Fang from 1996 is implied by the Brezis-Browder principle on ordered sets.

Perturbed subcritical Dirichlet problems with variable exponents
We study a class of nonhomogeneous elliptic problems with Dirichlet boundary condition and involving the p(x)-Laplace operator and power-type nonlinear terms with variable exponent.

A variational principle and its connection with fixed point theory
In this thesis, the following topics will be discussed; In chapter 2, a variational principle due to I. Ekeland (EVP) will be considered which deals with minimization of functions on a complete metric space; In chapter 3, the notion of completeness of a ...

In this article, we study the multiplicity of positive solutions for the biharmonic equation of Kirchhoff type involving concave-convex nonlinearities, $$ \Delta^2u-\Big(a+b\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}|\nabla u|^2dx\Big)\Delta u+V(x)u =\lambda f_1(x)|u|^{q-2 ...

A generalized Ekeland’s variational principle for vector equilibria
In this paper, we establish an Ekeland-type variational principle for vector valued bifunctions defined on complete metric spaces with values in locally convex spaces ordered by closed convex cones.

The Ekeland's Variational Principle
The present work has as target audience all students who have experience in Real Analysis. Some introductory results of Functional Analysis will be presented, as some definitions and results in metric spaces, having as main result: Ekeland’s ...
