The strong Ekeland variational principle

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2006
The main purpose of the present paper is to establish an extension of Ekeland's variational principle. The author is mainly concerned with quasiconvex proper and lower semicontinuous functions defined on a reflexive Banach space. In the last part of the paper this result is generalized in the framework of compact metric spaces endowed with a \(\tau ...

The Strong Ekeland Variational Principle in Quasi-Pseudometric Spaces

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
Roughly speaking, Ekeland’s Variational Principle (EkVP) (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 47 (1974), 324–353) asserts the existence of strict minima of some perturbed versions of lower semicontinuous functions defined on a complete metric space.

A generalized form of Ekeland’s variational principle [PDF]

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2012
In this paper we prove a generalized version of the Ekeland variational principle, which is a common generalization of Zhong variational principle and Borwein Preiss Variational principle.

Ekeland Variational Principle for Generalized Vector Equilibrium Problems with Equivalences and Applications [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2013
The aim of this paper is to introduce Ekeland variational principle with variants for generalized vector equilibrium problems and to establish some existence results of solutions of generalized vector equilibrium problems with compact or noncompact ...

Ekeland's Variational Principle for Set-Valued Functions [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Optimization, 2011
The authors extend Ekeland's variational principle to the case of set-valued mappings by using a set of directions and some particular partial orders related to it. Then, as an application they establish some sufficient conditions for the existence of an error bound of a finite system of inequalities of lower semicontinuous functions on a Banach space.

On Ekeland’s variational principle [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fixed Point Theory and Applications, 2011
For proper lower semi-continuous functionals bounded below which do not increase upon polarization, an improved version of Ekeland's variational principle can be formulated in Banach spaces, which provides almost symmetric points.

Ekeland Variational Principle and Some of Its Equivalents on a Weighted Graph, Completeness and the OSC Property [PDF]

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
We prove a version of the Ekeland Variational Principle (EkVP) in a weighted graph G and its equivalence to Caristi fixed point theorem and to the Takahashi minimization principle.

On Ekeland's variational principle for interval-valued functions with applications [PDF]

open access: yesFuzzy Sets and Systems, 2022
In this paper, we obtain a version of Ekeland's variational principle for interval-value functions by means of the Dancs-Hegedus-Medvegyev theorem [14]. We also derive two versions of Ekeland's variational principle involving the generalized Hukuhara Gateaux differentiability of interval-valued functions as well as a version of Ekeland's variational ...

Higher-order error bound for the difference of two functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
Error bounds play an important role in the research of mathematical programming. Using some techniques of nonsmooth analysis, we establish some results on the existence of higher-order error bounds for difference functions with set constraints.
