Parasites at the Summit: Unexpected Geographic Distribution of the Blood Parasite Lineage Found in the Endangered Giant Lizard of Tenerife

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
We combined microscopic screening and molecular phylogenetic analyses to characterize blood parasites infecting Gallotia intermedia from the coastal cliffs of Montaña de Guaza and to place these infections in a broader biogeographic context. We detected apicomplexan parasites of the genus Karyolysus infecting 53.6% of G.

Impact of Prior Biologic Mechanism of Action on Anti‐TNF Effectiveness in Inflammatory Bowel Disease: An ENEIDA Registry Study

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
In this nationwide ENEIDA registry study, anti‐TNF therapy after prior exposure to a different biologic mechanism of action showed reduced treatment durability in inflammatory bowel disease, with a particularly marked impact in ulcerative colitis, where short‐ and long‐term clinical effectiveness was also lower. Survival outcomes and treatment patterns in myelofibrosis in the JAK inhibitor era

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Summary Data on real‐world survival and treatment patterns in large, unselected myelofibrosis (MF) cohorts remain limited. We analysed 1649 patients with MF diagnosed from 2010 onwards and included in the Spanish Myelofibrosis Registry across 64 centres. Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors were administered to approximately half of the patients.

National Identities and Immigration in Catalunya and Québec

open access: yesNations and Nationalism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While national identity results in either positive or negative opinions towards immigrants, strong identification with a minority nation has been associated with ethnic‐ and language‐based nationalism, thus being linked to negative views. We examine citizens who identify with both a minority nation and a nation state.

Context‐dependent decision‐making in seed sourcing for restoration: reply to Beck et al. (2025)

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Determining the best seed sources for restoration can be a challenge for practitioners, especially under climate change. The number of variables and the spectrum of potential solutions can be daunting. No singular seed sourcing strategy, “local‐is‐best” or otherwise, is appropriate for all species and restoration efforts.
