Journal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, EarlyView.We demonstrated that Awaous tajasica performs facultative air breathing under experimental conditions of dissolved oxygen limitation, retaining air bubbles in the buccal cavity during gill ventilation.
