Controllable Dynamic Mechanical Cell Stimulation using Magnetically Actuated Artificial Cilia
This paper introduces a platform based on magnetic artificial cilia for providing controllable dynamic mechanical stimulation to single cells, suitable for investigating large cell populations and enabling live cell imaging. Proof‐of‐principle experiments show that cell morphology is strongly influenced by the artificial cilia, that cellular forces can

Elastic Pectoral Fin Actuators for Biomimetic Underwater Vehicle
This paper describes the development of two new types of pectoral fins made of elastic materials. The fins were designed to have flexibility and multifunctionality for use not only as propulsive devices in biomimetic underwater vehicles but in other applications such as grippers, thus avoiding the environmental damage often caused by rigid fins.

Fully Wireless and Flexible Valves for Multiplexed and Prolonged Intravesical Liquid Release
A fundamental mechanism for the simultaneous control of multiple magnetic valves is reported in a miniature soft robotic patch for intravesical drug delivery, enabling fully wireless and programmable liquid release. Integrated with a bioadhesive interface and induction‐coupling‐based liquid volume sensing, the soft robotic patch is promising to enable ...

Parallel elastic actuation for efficient large payload locomotion
For legged devices, their ability of carrying payload is a necessity for a wide range of tasks. In this paper, we present a new approach of carrying payload by using a parallel elastic mechanism, which is able to carry payloads of at least 3 times of its bodyweight.
