Attitude Maneuvering and Vibration Reducing Control of Flexible Spacecraft Subject to Actuator Saturation and Misalignment

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2018
A robust adaptive constrained control scheme is proposed for flexible spacecraft attitude maneuver and vibration suppression, in which multiple constraints are simultaneously considered, such as uncertain inertia parameters, external disturbance ...

Design of an Elastic Actuation System for a Gait-Assistive Active Orthosis for Incomplete Spinal Cord Injured Subjects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A spinal cord injury severely reduces the quality of life of affected people. Following the injury, limitations of the ability to move may occur due to the disruption of the motor and sensory functions of the nervous system depending on the severity of

Non-Overshooting Force Control of Series Elastic Actuators

open access: yesSolid State Phenomena, 2010
Whenever mechanical devices are used to interact with the environment, accurate control of the forces occurring at the interaction surfaces arises as an important challenge. Traditionally, force controlled systems utilize stiff force sensors in the feedback loop to measure and regulate the interaction forces.

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.

New Internal Stress Driven on-Chip Micromachines for Extracting Mechanical Properties of Thin Films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A new concept of micromachines has been developed for measuring the mechanical properties of thin metallic films. The actuator is a beam undergoing large internal stresses built up during the deposition process.

Meta‐Rod Mechanical Metamaterials With Programmable Reconfiguration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Existing mechanical metamaterials achieve programmable large deformations in planar square or cubic configurations, restricted by required complex boundary conditions. This research proposes a 1D metamaterial, Meta‐rod, with linear, bending, twisting, area, and volume deformation modes.

Design and Control of Cylindrical Linear Series Elastic Actuator [PDF]

open access: yes한국정밀공학회지, 2019
Recently, there are numerous studies on robots to function with smoother movement and high efficiency. It is difficult to develop robots with smooth movement and high efficiency. To solve this problem, the Series Elastic Actuator (SEA) is used.
