Buckling Analysis of Embedded Nanosize FG Beams Based on a Refined Hyperbolic Shear Deformation Theory [PDF]
In this study, the mechanical buckling response of refined hyperbolic shear deformable (FG) functionally graded nanobeams embedded in an elastic foundation is investigated based on the refined hyperbolic shear deformation theory.

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...

Buckling of Elastic Structures
THE BUCKLING OF A SLENDER COLUMN UNDER AN AXIAL LOAD AND THE COLLAPSE OF A THIN CYLINDER UNDER UNIFORM EXTERNAL PRESSURE HAVE LONG BEEN RECOGNIZED TO BE RELATED STRUCTURAL PHENOMENA. THE STRUCTURAL ACTION OF MIXED BUCKLING IS ANALYZED. ASSUMPTIONS MADE ARE: (1) THAT AT ALL POINTS THE UNIT DEFORMATIONS, OR STRAINS, ARE PROPORTIONAL TO OR ARE LINEAR ...

DQ thermal buckling analysis of embedded curved carbon nanotubes based on nonlocal elasticity theory
To investigate the thermal buckling of curved carbon nanotubes (CCNTs) embedded in an elastic medium, nonlocal elasticity theory is employed in combination with the theory of thin curved beams.

A flexible pressure sensor utilizing a 3D dual‐pore polyurethane structure is developed to overcome the intrinsic trade‐off between sensitivity and linearity. By inducing sequential buckling through distinct pore sizes and shapes, the device achieves highly linear and sensitive responses across a wide pressure range.
