Flexural–torsional buckling of thin-walled composite box beams [PDF]
Buckling of an axially loaded thin-walled laminated composite is studied. A general analytical model applicable to the flexural, torsional and flexural–torsional buckling of a thin-walled composite box beam subjected to axial load is developed.

We study the heavy-ion reaction at sub-barrier energies for 16O+144,154Smsystems using full order coupled-channels formalism. We especially investigate the effect of fusion and quasi- elastic barrier distributions on the surface diffuseness and the ...

On the significance of Elastic Coupling for Stresses and Leakage in Frictional Contacts [PDF]
We study how the commonly neglected coupling of normal and in-plane elastic response affects tribological properties when Hertzian or randomly rough indenters slide past an elastic body. Compressibility-induced coupling is found to substantially increase

ABSTRACT Multisystemic smooth muscle dysfunction syndrome (MSMDS) is an ultra‐rare, ACTA2‐related disorder characterized by severe cerebrovascular disease, aortic aneurysms, and smooth muscle dysfunction. Using molecular dynamics simulations and in silico drug screening, we identified that sapropterin dihydrochloride (Kuvan) is a candidate capable of ...

Two-to-one resonant multi-modal dynamics of horizontal/inclined cables. Part I : theoretical formulation and model validation [PDF]
This paper is first of the two papers dealingwith analytical investigation of resonant multimodal dynamics due to 2:1 internal resonances in the finite-amplitude free vibrations of horizontal/inclined cables. Part I deals with theoretical formulation and

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Dynamic response of vehicle-track coupling system with an insulated rail joint [PDF]
The dynamic behavior of vehicle and track systems is studied in the presence of an insulated rail joint through a two-dimensional vehicle-track coupling model.

Theoretical modelling of frequency dependent elastic loss in composite piezoelectric transducers [PDF]
The large number of degrees of freedom in the design of piezoelectric transducers requires a theoretical model that is computationally efficient so that a large number of iterations can be performed in the design optimisation.
