Lateral-distortional buckling of continuous steel-concrete composite beam

open access: yesRevista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais, 2018
In hogging bending moment regions of continuous composite beams the collapse by lateral-distortional buckling (LDB) can occur. The design against LDB according to ABNT NBR 8800:2008 begins with the determination of the elastic critical moment, which ...

Explicit Buckling Analysis of Rotationally Restrained Plates on Rigid Base Under Various Loading Conditions

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao, 2022
In order to investigate the unilateral buckling behavior of rectangular plates with different elastic rotational restraint stiffnesses on the rigid foundation, the buckling of rectangular plates with elastic rotation constraints on the rigid foundation ...

Strength Characteristics of a Heat-Resistant Metal-Matrix Composite Inconel 625–5%NiTi–TiB2 Alloy Fabricated by Direct Laser Deposition under Shock-Wave Loading

open access: yesMetals, 2023
The Hugoniot elastic limit and spall strength were measured for a heat-resistant metal-matrix composite Inconel 625–5%NiTi–TiB2 alloy additive manufactured (AM) by direct laser deposition.

Modification of the Euler Load for the Stiffened Compressive Members and Determination of the Optimal Stiffening for the Maximum Buckling Load [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation in Civil Engineering, 2020
The potential of buckling in compressive members has been considered as a disadvantage when using steel members in the construction industry. In spite of the progress made in this regard, buckling is still considered as a challenge in the analysis and ...

Theoretical and Numerical Studies of Elastic Buckling and Load Resistance of a Shuttle-Shaped Double-Restrained Buckling-Restrained Brace

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
A new type of shuttle-shaped double-restrained buckling-restrained brace (SDR-BRB) is proposed, which adopts the form of a shuttle-shaped deformation section similar to its bending moment distribution as the external restraining system.

Global Buckling Resistance of Cold-Formed Steel Beams with Omega-Shaped Sections

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The absence of analytical expressions in current codes for evaluating the critical moment for lateral–torsional buckling of cold-formed beams with omega-shaped sections presents a fundamental challenge when assessing their resistance to global buckling ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
