Performance analysis of elastic optical networks (EONs) switches under unicast traffic
Bandwidth variable-wavelength cross connect switches (BV-WXCs) play an important role in the routing and spectrum assignment (RSA) problem in elastic optical networks (EONs). These switches, whose structure has been derived from micro electro mechanical systems technology, aim to switch the incoming traffic flexibly such that the existing resources are

Best fit (BF): A new Spectrum Allocation mechanism in Elastic Optical Networks (EONs)
2016 8th International Symposium on Telecommunications (IST), 2016Routing and spectrum allocation (RSA) is known as a key challenge in elastic optical networks (EON). Specifically, RSA process is categorized as (i) without adjusting modulation format (simply referred to as RSA), and (ii) with adjusting modulation format (referred as routing, modulation level and spectrum allocation (RMSA)).

Providing Quality of Service (QoS) for Data Traffic in Elastic Optical Networks (EONs)
Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, 2015With the growth of users’ traffic demands, the need for a network to flexibly assign the existing resources to the demands becomes an important challenging issue. Therefore, a specific generation of optical networks called elastic optical network (EON) has been introduced recently.

Link Recovery with Spectrum Overlap (LR-wSO) in Elastic Optical Networks (EONs)
2022 20th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN), 2022In this paper, a link recovery algorithm with spectrum overlap in elastic optical networks is proposed. Simulation results indicate that the designed algorithm has better performance in terms of recovery success ratio and resource utilization.
