This work presents an autonomous SDN controller for EONs, detailing closed-loop QoT management with telemetry, a QoT tool, and a Path Computation Server. Two recovery strategies for QoT-degraded services are proposed and numerically compared.

Cluster software defined optical networking controller (CSC) paradigm is exploited for multi-dimensional resource defragmentation (MDRD) in spatial division multiplexing enabled elastic optical networks. Experimental results show that spectral and spatial resources can be reorganized fast and effectively with cluster control technology.
