Herein, tough and elastic hydrogel based on polyvinyl alcohol is engineered and characterized for potential use as implants. The mechanophysical properties of the hydrogel are tuned by freeze‐thawing preparation, followed by salting‐out using choline bicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate.
