Thermo‐Fluorescent Bactericidal Quantum Dots Based Smart Multifunctional Textiles via Molecular Surface Engineering and 3D‐Printed Interlocked Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A versatile approach is presented for fabricating smart multifunctional textiles by integrating thermo‐fluorescent carbon dot/polymer nanocomposite coatings with 3D‐printed interlocked architectures. The fabrics exhibit temperature‐responsive fluorescence, durable hydrophobicity, strong antibacterial and antioxidant activity, and enhanced UV protection.

Multi-period collaborative trading mechanism for microgrids based on dynamic bargaining framework and double revenue accounts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Current research on microgrid (MG) peer-to-peer (P2P) trading mainly focuses on the day-ahead market, where static Nash bargaining models are widely used for energy trading and benefit distribution. However, these models are inadequate for addressing the

The Elastic Settlement of a Pile in the Ground

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 1964
SUMMARY This paper presents a formula how to estimate numerically the elastic settlement of a pile in ground subject to static loads, assuming that the pile and the soil are the elastic materials and that the settlement of pile head consists of both the pile deformation itself and the settlement of soil beneath the pile base.

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

Analysis of Bearing Capacity and Settlement Behavior of Pile Foundations Based on SPT Results in Sandy Soils

open access: yesJurnal Civil Engineering Study
Pile loading on sandy soil mobilizes the frictional mechanism through the interaction between the soil and the pile in a non-cohesive manner. Slowly applied axial loads are gradually resisted by skin friction and end-bearing capacity as deformation ...

Enhanced Endoscopic Internal Drainage of Gastric Abscess Through Additively Manufactured Stents

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Postoperative gastric leaks are often treated with off‐label biliary double‐pigtail stents, yet conventional extruded designs are not optimized for leak anatomy, can migrate, and may limit abscess evacuation. PETALS is introduced to optimize transmural drainage geometry and enable patient‐specific 3D‐printable stents.

Respiratory Organ‐on‐a‐Chip for Disease Modeling: From Architecture to Functional Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Respiratory organ‐on‐a‐chip (ROC) models capture key mechanical and cellular cues of the human respiratory system, enabling quantitative dissection of disease mechanisms. This review links ROC architectures to disease modeling, functional integration, and commercialization, and proposes a decision framework that aligns model complexity with mechanistic

Settlement Behaviors of Metro Tunnels during the Metro Operation

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2015
This paper investigates the settlement behaviors of a metro tunnel during metro operation. A nonlinear vibration model of vehicle-track is established, and a series of vibration loadings for the frequency domain acting on segments are obtained based on a

Assessment of Settlement of Shallow Foundations Erected Near Slopes of Sandy Soil

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2006
In this study, the behaviour of shallow foundations near slopes is studied using nonlinear elastic finite element analysis. Forty-four cases of strip footings resting on cohesionless soils that were studied by Sud (1984)[1] through model tests, have been

Determination of Settlement for Beam on Elastic Foundation by ETABS Software

open access: yesAl-Nahrain Journal for Engineering Sciences, 2018
In this study a numerical examples and solutions has been obtained by using three system of beam resting on elastic foundation (BOEF) which was adopted previously by three different engineering software. The first part of this paper was related to verify the model of (BOEF) by using ETABS2015 by make a comparison with previous results by determination ...
