ANALYTICAL SOLUTION AND FIELD TEST OF CRITICAL BEARING CAPACITY ANDSETTLEMENT OF PILE TIP [PDF]
In order to explore the relationship between the critical bearing capacity and settlementof closed pile tip pierced into the soil, based on the Boussinesq solution and the Kelvin solution, the analytical solution between the critical bearing ...

TBM pressure models: calculation tools [PDF]
Mechanized tunnel construction in soft ground has evolved significantly over the last 20 years, especially on the matter of settlement control. This was achieved by guiding the TBM operation to control the main factors that induce soil displacements ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Use of tire derived aggregate in tunnel cut-and-cover [PDF]
A case-history is reported in which tire derived aggregate (TDA) was successfully applied to reduce the weight of fill upon a cut-and-cover railway tunnel. Subsequent 3D numerical analyses are used to explore the effect of different assumptions about the

Dynamic effect of high speed railway traffic loads on the ballast track settlement [PDF]
The traditional ballast track structures are still being used in high speed railways lines with success, however technical problems or performance features have led to non-ballast track solution in some cases.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Influence of section depth on the structural behaviour of reinforced concrete continuous deep beams [PDF]
YesAlthough the depth of reinforced concrete deep beams is much higher than that of slender beams, extensive existing tests on deep beams have focused on simply supported beams with a scaled depth below 600 mm.

Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...
