Liquid Crystalline Inverted Lipid Phases and Reverse Micelles in Drug Delivery: From Molecular Design to Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline inverted lipid phases and reverse micelles are self‐assembled lipid nanostructures that enhance the solubility, stability, and delivery of diverse therapeutics. This review integrates their physicochemical principles, formulation strategies, drug loading mechanisms, and biomedical applications, highlighting their growing ...

Optimal growth and development in the first thousand days of life (1000 HPK) can be achieved by starting complementary feeding (CF) for infants aged 6-23 months to fulfill nutritional needs and prevent nutritional disorders such as stunting.

Shifts and Twists in the Relative Productivity of Skilled Labor [PDF]

open access: yes
Skill-biased technical change is usually interpreted in terms of the efficiency parameters of skilled and unskilled labor. This implies that the relative productivity of skilled workers changes proportionally in all tasks.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

On the trade balance response to monetary shocks: the Marshall-Lerner conditions reconsidered [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper shows that, by disentangling the degree of monopolistic distortion from the elasticity of substitution between domestic and im-ported goods, we can obtain a negative response of the trade balance to positive monetary shocks, without ...

Switchable Supramolecular Adhesive by Tuning Interfacial Bonding and Modulus

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The supramolecular adhesive (HyDiP) shows reversible adhesion and recyclability. In the dehydrated state, it is dense, stiff (E ≈445 MPa), transparent, and provides strong bonding with adhesion strengths up to 4.65 MPa. In the hydrated state, it becomes porous, soft (E ≈0.11 MPa), and detaches easily, enabling sustainable high‐strength applications ...

The Optimal Tax Rule in the Presence of Time Use [PDF]

open access: yes
Using Mexican data on household time use and consumption, we find significant substitution between goods and time in home production and different elasticities of substitution for different household commodities.

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.

Competition in the Turkish mobile telecommunications market: Price elasticities and network substitution [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper estimates demand elasticities for the Turkish mobile telecommunication market. In contrast to most other studies, firm level data is used to estimate dynamic panel data models including instrumental variable techniques.
