The Cauchy Relations in Linear Elasticity Theory [PDF]
In linear elasticity, we decompose the elasticity tensor into two irreducible pieces with 15 and 6 independent components, respectively. The {\it vanishing} of the piece with 6 independent components corresponds to the Cauchy relations. Thus, for the first time, we recognize the group-theoretical underpinning of the Cauchy relations.

Vacuum‐Formed Composites Based on a Polyolefin and a High Content of Biomass‐Waste Fillers
It is shown here that by the use of a very ductile polymer matrix, it is possible to vacuum‐form products that contain up to 25% of hard biofillers with still ductile properties. The results are promising and opens up for the use of engineered biocomposites derived from industrial side‐stream biofillers in vacuum‐formed products. A strategy to increase

Nonlinear Cauchy Elasticity [PDF]
Most theories and applications of elasticity rely on an energy function that depends on the strains from which the stresses can be derived. This is the traditional setting of Green elasticity, also known as hyper-elasticity. However, in its original form the theory of elasticity does not assume the existence of a strain-energy function.

Cloaking via change of variables in elastic impedance tomography [PDF]
We discuss the concept of cloaking for elastic impedance tomography, in which, we seek information on the elasticity tensor of an elastic medium from the knowledge of measurements on its boundary. We derive some theoretical results illustrated by some numerical simulations.

Thermo-physical description of elastic solids
Experiments show that all the derivatives of the thermo-physical variables are nearly constant. The constant value of the derivatives indicates linear relationship between the variables. Neither the volume coefficient of thermal expansion nor the bulk modulus are constant and show pressure and temperature dependence.

This study aims to establish a link between the dielectric properties of polyamide 12 (PA12) and its thermal and rheological properties using dielectric analysis (DEA). A standardized methodology is introduced to determine melting and crystallization temperatures.

Physical, Mechanical and Elastic Properties of Chondrite Lithologies
This project measured the physical, mechanical, and elastic properties of a range of chondrite lithologies, a domain that was inadequately explored. The properties measured are porosity, bulk and grain density, seismic velocity (P and S waves), Unconfined Compressive Strength, Direct Shear Strength, Hardness (HLD)/Coefficient of Restitution, dynamic ...

This work reveals the phase composition and quantitative morphology analysis of precipitation‐hardened Fe32Cu12Ni11Ti16Al29 complex‐concentrated alloy. The precipitates are shown to have a high coherency. Morphology transition between sphere, cuboidal, and elongated morphology is observed. Finally, the overaging behavior is captured using microhardness.

Shifted Laplacian multigrid for the elastic Helmholtz equation
The shifted Laplacian multigrid method is a well known approach for preconditioning the indefinite linear system arising from the discretization of the acoustic Helmholtz equation.
