Elastic Alfven waves in elastic turbulence [PDF]
Speed of sound waves in gases and liquids is governed by medium compressibility. There exists another type of non-dispersive waves which speed depends on stress instead of medium elasticity. A well-known example is the Alfven wave propagating, with a speed determined by a magnetic tension, in plasma permeated by a magnetic field.

Elastic interactions in physics are reflections in geometry
A simple standard problem in physics is the study of elastic collisions between elements of an ideal system, which consists of two point masses and a wall. Based on energy and momentum conservation laws, solving the problem consists in finding the intersection of a straight line with a conic.

Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.

Elasticity and electrostatics of plectonemic DNA [PDF]
We present a self-contained theory for the mechanical response of DNA in single molecule experiments. Our model is based on a 1D continuum description of the DNA molecule and accounts both for its elasticity and for DNA-DNA electrostatic interactions. We

RhoA and Rac1 as Mechanotransduction Mediators in Colorectal Cancer
Analysing RhoA and Rac1 protein levels in Colorectal cancer (CRC) samples under mechanical strain highlights their potential as diagnostic markers. Monitoring their activity could offer valuable insights into how cancer spreads, paving the way for new approaches to better understand and diagnose colorectal cancer.
