Research on meshing stiffness and damping of spur gear considering elastohydrodynamic lubrication
ObjectiveAiming at the problems that existing calculations of gear mesh stiffness and damping ignore the influence of elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) or require solving complex EHL system equations, this study was conducted to establish a more ...

An Advanced Approach for the Analysis of the Rotor Dynamics of a Ball Bearing Turbocharger
Turbochargers operate under highly transient conditions, which impose significant mechanical and thermal loads on their rotating components. When supported by ball bearings combined with squeeze film dampers, the rotor system exhibits complex nonlinear ...

Viscosity Loss in PFPE Lubricant for Space Applications under EHL Conditions
An unbranched perfluoropolyether (PFPE) 815Z is the current ball bearing lubricant for space applications. Measurements of elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) oil film thickness have been carried out to assess the lubricating performance of PFPE with ...

This study tests TiO₂ and SiO₂ nanolubricants in PAG oil using a Mini Traction Machine and an Ultra Shear Viscometer. The loads were 20 N and 40 N. The entrainment speeds ranged from 2.5 to 500 mm per second. The slide to roll ratio ranged from 25 to 150 percent. The nanoparticle concentrations were 0.01, 0.03, and 0.05 percent. The ball size was 19.05
