Design and Modeling of a High‐Displacement, Skin‐Integrated Flexible Electromagnetic Actuator for Haptic Interfaces in Virtual Reality

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible, skin‐integrated electromagnetic actuator is developed for wearable virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) haptic systems. A tunable design model enables control over displacement and resonance frequency. The system is validated through a custom VR application with a 6 × 4 actuator array, demonstrating real‐time, spatially targeted tactile ...

Mechanical plaque removal in step‐1 of care

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Maintaining a regular oral hygiene routine is essential for taking care of our mouths, ensuring healthy teeth, and achieving fresh breath. Patient education on oral hygiene is an important component of their overall treatment. Firstly, patients should be informed about the direct connection between bacteria in dental plaque and oral diseases ...

Effect of the fire action on the seismic isolation system for existing reinforced concrete buildings

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Seismic isolation is a design strategy adopted for the protection of both new and existing structures from the damaging effects of earthquakes. It is achieved through the use of elastomeric isolators, which, in case of fire, can suffer permanent damage ...

Development and Mechanical Performance of a New Kind of Bridge Seismic Isolator for Low Seismic Regions

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2013
The concept of fibre-reinforced plate elastomeric isolator (FRPEI) is introduced firstly in this paper. Three FRPEI specimens have been constructed to evaluate the mechanical performance of the isolators by performing vertical and horizontal tests.

Use of elastomeric elements in control of rotor instability [PDF]

open access: yes
The dynamic characteristics of elastomeric supports are discussed. Stiffness and damping characteristics for elastomers of various geometries including O-rings, buttons loaded in compression, and rectangular elements loaded in shear are presented.

A Biomarker‐Driven Ovary–Endometrium Organ‐on‐a‐Chip Mimicking 3D Multicellular Complexity and Menstrual Cyclicity for Predicting Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.
