Experimental Investigation on Fibre Reinforced Elastomeric Bearings
IABSE Reports, 2014<p> Seismic base isolation by introducing a flexible horizontal layer at the foundation of a structure can significantly reduce the seismic demand. Bearings consisting of elastomeric layers reinforced by thin steel plates or fibre sheets have been used in the past as isolation devises.

Equivalent Homogeneous FE Model for Elastomeric Bearings
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1987An “equivalent homogeneous, orthotropic” model that includes edge effects and an accompanying finite element analysis is presented for elastomeric bearings. The model is developed for three‐dimensional configurations with horizontal layers, and for linear, elastic, small deformation conditions.

Testing of Elastomeric Bearings for Bridges
2006The aim of these testings was to determine mechanical characteristics of elastomeric bearings for new Jankomir bridge over Sava river in Zagreb with emphasis on the characteristics in horizontal direction under vertical load. Tested bearings were roun shaped with diameter of 450 mm and total height of 111 mm type V2ES 2400/190 (thickness of elastomeric

Viscoelastic Stability Model for Elastomeric Isolation Bearings
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1989A viscoelastic model accounting for the stability effect is proposed for high‐damping elastomeric bearings used in aseismic base isolation. This model is consistent with Haringx's theory, which takes into consideration the significant shear deformation of the elastomer.

Sensored Elastomeric Bridge Bearing and its Application
Advanced Materials Research, 2010A prototype of sensored bridge bearing was developed, fabricated, tested and planned to be applied in two bridge structures for sensing and monitoring of construction process and service condition. Besides, numerical modeling of the prototype was performed using the finite element method with ABAQUS, and meanwhile the testing results were calibrated ...

Elastomeric Sleeve Bearing Design
1972It is shown that the experimentally determined deflectional behavior of certain elastomer-lined sleeve bearings under static radial loads can be modeled to some extent by the compressive behavior of flat elastomeric slabs. An equation for the thermal bearing-bore change is developed using the conventional theory for the thermoelasticity of ...

MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS OF THE LAMINATED ELASTOMERIC BEARING
1966Abstract : The purpose of this study was the establishment of analytical design procedures for laminated elastomeric bearings. This was approached with the application of the linear mathematical theory of elasticity and later with nonlinear large-deformation elasticity theory.
