Abstract The joints of the elbow (including the proximal radioulnar joint) have strong ligaments. The main movements of the elbow joint are flexion and extension while forearm pronation and supination occur at the radioulnar joints.TraumaFractures are common but may be hard to detect on X-ray leading to a misdiagnosis of a soft-tissue ...

Elbow joint position sense after total elbow arthroplasty
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2014Multiple human experiments have shown that articular lesions can have a negative effect on proprioception. The influence of total elbow arthroplasty on joint position sense has not been reported so far. The purpose of the study was to evaluate proprioception, defined as a joint position sense, after total elbow arthroplasty. The study included 16 ...

Articular denervation was a subject of interest in treating painful pathologies of different body joints, especially in non-weight-bearing joints. Good knowledge about articular neuroanatomy is needed to perform denervation procedures effectively. Elbow denervation can be done in a large number of pathologies in young active patients who have a good or

The elbow is the intermediate joint of the upper limb. It involves three bones, the humerus proximally and the radius and the ulna distally. In the upper limb, this joint is the counterpart of the knee in that it controls the length of the limb; in combination with the joints above and below it, the elbow orientates and directs the hand.
