Implementation of a Biologically Inspired Responsive Joint Attention System for a Social Robot
This work introduces a responsive joint attention system in the social robot Mini, enabling dynamic, human‐like responses based on the user's head, body, and gaze. The system enhances user engagement and robot responsiveness. An experiment reveals significant improvements in social presence when the system is active, validating its effectiveness in ...

This article proposes a soft wearable robot (WeaRo) to assist workers while executing manual handling tasks. With its innovative design, the WeaRo effectively assists multiple body parts during manual handling tasks while using a single motor. Furthermore, the components of the WeaRo are assembled onto a fabric‐based suit, ensuring high performance and

FRACTURES INTO AND ABOUT THE ELBOW JOINT. [PDF]
Fractures involving the elbow joint, if not properly treated, will often result in impairment of function, amounting in some cases to complete ankylosis, and when we consider that even slight limitation of the movements of this joint may incapacitate an individual from following the trade of his choice, it behooves us to not neglect even apparently ...

Personalized Kirigami Strain Sensors for in vivo Applications
Rapid prototyping of strain sensors is demonstrated using a laser cutter that both converts carbon‐based material to strain responsible graphene and generates cuts in a kirigami‐style pattern that allows enhanced substrate flexibility. This method is used to generate wearable sensors for monitoring heart rate, limb/finger motion, and abdominal ...

Dynamic Single‐Input Control of Multistate Multitransition Soft Robotic Actuator
A concept for reducing the number of control inputs to one in a system with N degrees of freedom, is presented. Incorporating structural instabilities, cleverly, enables choosing any desired trajectory out of (N!)2 with only one input. The concept is demonstrated experimentally, along with analytical insights and numerical simulations.
