Antibiotic Prophylaxis for Elective Pediatric Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies

The Surgical Infection Society (SIS) guidelines recommend against the use of surgical antibiotic prophylaxis (SAP) for low-risk patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomies.Using National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) data, 5440 pediatric patients were identified who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy from 2021 to 2022.
