The Future of Electoral Law

This chapter examines four topics and makes certain predictions about the future of our electoral laws. The topics examined are: the separate Māori seats, the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system, a fixed parliamentary term, and the term of Parliament. Viewed dispassionately, three of those four features warrant reform.
