Physico-Chemical Characterization of the Electric Arc Furnace Slag (EAFS) of the Sonasid-Jorf Steelworks - Morocco

Construction Technologies and Architecture, 2022
The steelmaking process results in the by-product formation of electric arc furnace slag (EAFS). Slag is recovered at two different stages of the steelmaking process, the first recovery is black and the second is white. The present research focuses on the composition differences between the two types of slag from SONASID-Jorf steel in Morocco.

Leaching Kinetics of Iron from Electric Arc Furnace Slag (EAFS)

AIJR Proceedings, 2022
The steelmaking process produces a substantial amount of electric arc furnace slag (EAFS). Therefore, this present study conducted acid leaching, with and without the use of oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and potassium permanganate (KMnO4), to increase the amount of iron (Fe) recovered from the EAFS.

The study of properties and behavior of self compacting concrete containing Electric Arc Furnace Slag (EAFS) as aggregate

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2020
Electric Arc Furnace Slag (EAFS) can be efficiently reused as aggregate in the production of high-volume batches of hydraulic concrete mixes that show interesting properties in both the fresh and the hardened state. Mixtures containing EAFS aggregate in proportions of nearly 50% by volume are prepared for use as pumpable and self-compacting mixes with ...

Process for Enhancing the Valuable Metal Recovery from "Electric Arc Furnace" (EAF) Slags

Waste and Biomass Valorization, 2021
Given the current depletion of the world's natural resources, the strong demand and the induced future deposit of primary mineral resources carrying metals (such as molybdenum, vanadium and chromium), one of the solution to this problem is the recycling of metals from by-products (such as steel slags) containing them.
