Using Electric Current as a Weed Control Method

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Engineering Research and Science, 2017
Weed struggle has an important place in agricultural production. The widespread use of chemicals in this struggle is due to its easy applicability, its short-term results, and its economic efficiency. However, the negative effects of these chemicals on the environment and human health have been recognized, and the interest in non-chemical struggle ...

Experimental demonstration of a multiphysics cloak: manipulating heat flux and electric current simultaneously

open access: yes, 2014
In past years, triggered by their successful realizations in electromagnetics, invisible cloaks have experienced rapid development and have been widely pursued in many different fields, though so far only for a single physical system.

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

Particle swarm optimisation technique to improve energy efficiency of doubly-fed induction generators for wind turbines

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Wind energy conversion systems (WECSs) require a suitable control to maximise the power generated by wind turbines independently on the wind conditions.

Magnetic noise controlled by electric current through core

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1980
Magnetic noise in tape cores can in general be suppressed considerably by passing suitable galvanic currents through them. The method is also applicable to samples subject to asymmetric shear twist forces. A linear decrease in peak-to-peak maximum magnetic noise is observed for increasing currents through the core for the amorphous ribbon Fe80B20.

Controlled motion of electrically neutral microparticles by pulsed direct current [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractA controlled motion of electrically neutral microparticles in a conductive liquid at high temperatures has not yet been realized under the uniform direct electric current field. We propose a simple method, which employs pulsed direct current to a conductive liquid metal containing low-conductivity objects at high temperature.

Maximum Torque Per Ampere Control Strategy of a 5-phase PM Generator in healthy and faulty modes for tidal marine turbine application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The work presented in this paper aims to propose a control strategy being able to extract efficiently energy from a fixed-pitch marine current turbine associated with a 5–phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) in healthy mode and in faulty ...

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.
