Magnetic noise controlled by electric current through core

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1980
Magnetic noise in tape cores can in general be suppressed considerably by passing suitable galvanic currents through them. The method is also applicable to samples subject to asymmetric shear twist forces. A linear decrease in peak-to-peak maximum magnetic noise is observed for increasing currents through the core for the amorphous ribbon Fe80B20.

Controlled motion of electrically neutral microparticles by pulsed direct current [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractA controlled motion of electrically neutral microparticles in a conductive liquid at high temperatures has not yet been realized under the uniform direct electric current field. We propose a simple method, which employs pulsed direct current to a conductive liquid metal containing low-conductivity objects at high temperature.

Wide frequency range active damping of LCL-filtered grid-connected converters

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
It can be challenging to guarantee the stability of grids with many converters with LCL filters connected due to the presence of multiple resonances within the system. This paper presents an active damping technique to mitigate multiple resonance effects

Relations between ameboid movement and membrane-controlled electrical currents. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of general physiology, 1977
We have studied the pattern of electrical currents through amebas (mainly Chaos chaos) with an ultrasensitive extracellular vibrating probe. Amebas drive both steady currents and current pulses through themselves. Relatively steady current with an average surface density of 0.1-0.2 muA/cm2 enters the rear quarter of an ameba and leaves its pseudopods ...

Hybrid single-electron transistor as a source of quantized electric current

open access: yes, 2007
The basis of synchronous manipulation of individual electrons in solid-state devices was laid by the rise of single-electronics about two decades ago. Ultra-small structures in a low temperature environment form an ideal domain of addressing electrons ...

Swarm-Intelligence Tuned Current Reduction for Power-Assisted Steering Control in Electric Vehicles

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2018
In electric vehicle technology, battery energy conservation is paramount due to the dependency of all system operations on the available battery. The proportional, integral and derivative (PID) controller parameters in the electric power assisted ...

Frequency and time domain characteristics of digital control of electric vehicle in-wheel drives

open access: yesArchives of Electrical Engineering, 2017
In-wheel electric drives are promising as actuators in active safety systems of electric and hybrid vehicles. This new function requires dedicated control algorithms, making it essential to deliver models that reflect better the wheel-torque control ...

Motor/generator and electronic control considerations for energy storage flywheels [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A spacecraft electric power supply system is described. Requirements of the system are to accelerate a momentum wheel to a fixed maximum speed when solar energy is available and to maintain a constant voltage on the spacecraft bus under varying loads ...

Controlling the net charge on a nanoparticle optically levitated in vacuum

open access: yes, 2017
Optically levitated nanoparticles in vacuum are a promising model system to test physics beyond our current understanding of quantum mechanics. Such experimental tests require extreme control over the dephasing of the levitated particle's motion.
