Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

On Radial Electric Field Structure in CHS Torsatron / Heliotron [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
"The radial electric field structure in helical system is discussed taking into account the effects of the orbit loss and charge exchange loss in addition to the neoclassical fluxes.

Formation of Positive Radial Electric Field by Electron Cyclotron Heating in Compact Helical System [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
"The radial electric field is driven to positive value by off-axis second harmonic electron cyclotron heating (ECH) in the Compact Helical System [Plasma Physics and Controlled Nuclear Fusion Research, 1988, Nice (International Atomic Energy Agency ...

Quantized chiral anomaly materials cloak

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Chiral anomaly materials (CAM, e.g., axion insulator, topological insulator and some of Weyl semimetal) are new states of quantum matter. Anomalous Hall effect can occur in CAM, the anomalous Hall effect is closely related to the topological magneto ...

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Medium voltage active power filters for all-electric ships [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Power quality aspects are becoming more and more challenging in the AES field. Among them, voltage-THD requirements stated by ship-owners are becoming narrower and narrower, while traditional countermeasures to harmonic distortion do not seem to ...

Field-aligned currents and ionospheric parameters deduced from EISCAT radar measurements in the post-midnight sector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
International audienceAttempting to derive the field-aligned current (FAC) density using the EISCAT radar and to understand the role of the ionosphere on closing FACs, we conducted special radar experiments with the EISCAT radar on 9 October 1999.

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Investigation of the Impact of Wind-Sand Flows on the Electric Field Along Composite Insulator Surface via Multi-Physical Field Coupling

open access: yesEnergies
Insulators in wind-sand flows distort the electric field along their surfaces due to the wind-sand electric field, threatening the safe operation of transmission lines.

Reconfigurable Logic‐in‐Memory Operations Enabled by Triple‐Gated Feedback Field‐Effect Transistors for Area‐Efficient Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable logic‐in‐memory cell composed of triple‐gated feedback field‐effect transistors implements multiple combinational logic functions within a single configuration. By utilizing program gates as dynamic input terminals, the proposed cell performs full adder, full subtractor, 2‐to‐1 multiplexer, and 4‐to‐2 encoder operations without ...
