Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Distribution of electric field and design of devices in GaN avalanche photodiodes

open access: yes, 2012
We have investigated the distribution of the electric field in p-i-n type and separate absorption and multiplication (SAM) type GaN avalanche photodiodes under different reverse bias values.

Distribution of electric field in capacitor and surge arrester bushings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The electric field distribution in high voltage capacitor and surge arrester bushings is principally dependent on the geometry dimension and types of the materials used.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Effects of Disc Insulator Type and Corona Ring on Electric Field and Voltage Distribution over 230-kV Insulator String by Numerical Method

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2013
Insulator strings with several material and profiles are very common in overhead transmission lines. However, the electric field and voltage distribution of insulator string is uneven which may easily lead to corona, insulators’ surface deterioration and

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Impact of Titanium Skull Plate on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation: Analysis of Induced Electric Fields

open access: yesLife
Background: Implanted titanium skull plates (TSPs) in cranioplasty are used to replace or reconstruct areas of the skull that have been damaged or removed due to trauma, surgery, or other medical conditions. However, the presence of a TSP in the head may
