Electric-Field Shielding and Measurement

1967 IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Symposium Record, 1967
Using quasi-static relationships, a fairly simple derivation for the electric-to-electric-field shielding effectiveness was demonstrated. Shielding-effectiveness computations based on this simple approach appear identical to those based on a more rigorous formulation using scattering theory and numerical integration.

Reconstruction of the Near-Field Electric Field by SNOM Measurement

Nano Letters, 2023
Scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM) with nanoscale spatial resolution has been a powerful tool in studying the plasmonic properties of nano materials/structures. However, the quantification of the SNOM measurement remains a major challenge in the field due to the lack of reliable methodologies.

Electric Field Measurement

2012
The basic method of electric field measurement, over a wide frequency range, involves the use of charge induction phenomenon in a body illuminated by the field. As shown in Fig. 4.1 is the electromotive force (emf) eE induced by the electric component of the EMF generated by an arbitrary source in a symmetrical dipole antenna of total length 2h.

Optical measurement of electric fields

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
Local electric field strengths in low density plasmas can be measured directly by Doppler-free two-photon spectroscopy of atomic hydrogen mostly present in such discharges. This method is based on the Stark-splitting of the atomic resonance lines and causes no significant perturbation to the discharge.

Electrical measurement of free space electric field sensors

2016 IEEE Metrology for Aerospace (MetroAeroSpace), 2016
Free space electric field sensor is the important load of satellite to obtain the information of electric field. Analysis of electric field offers a lot of information to the study area of earthquake monitoring, thunderstorm monitoring and radio wave propagation, improving the ability of major natural disasters monitoring.

Measurement of electric field distributions

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1955
The usual method of measuring electric field distributions comprises a receiving antenna at the point of observation, connected by means of a transmission line to receiving apparatus at some distant point. The principal advantage of the method described here is that it eliminates the transmission line and thus makes possible many measurements which ...

Electric field measurement by a LiNbO 3 probe

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
Optical devices have the potential for large scale integration and can be successfully used in mission critical environments; in particular optical probes interacting with electric fields can be used in several electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and industrial, scientifical and medical (ISM) applications. We describe an electro-optical device based on

Integrated optical waveguide electric field sensor for lightning electric field measurements

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
In this work, an integrated optical waveguide electric field sensor with segmented electrodes is designed and fabricated for measurement of lightning impulse electric field. First, the compositions of the sensing system were described briefly.

Nonperturbing electric field sensor for near field measurement

1998 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements Digest (Cat. No.98CH36254), 2002
We present a novel electric field measurement system utilising optical technology, which has been developed, tested and calibrated for near field measurement in the frequency region up to 1.8 GHz. The measuring probe is passive, all-dielectric and EMI immune.

Electric field measurement at sea

Oceans '97. MTS/IEEE Conference Proceedings, 2002
Most of the electrometers are based on the measurement of the difference of potential between two electrodes; a major drawback of this method is its low performance since little of the signal energy is used. Indeed, a very small current goes through the equipment, limited by the high impedance of the voltmeter.
