A new near-zone electric-field-strength meter [PDF]
The National Bureau of Standards has recently completed the development of prototype instrumentation for measuring the electric field components of complex, high-level, near-zone electromagnetic fields from O . 1 to 1 00 0 volts per meter, a t frequencies from 1 50 kHz to 30 MHz with a present uncertainty of less than ± 2 dB .

A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Based on two models of laminated shells, free low frequency vibrations of a three-layered cylindrical panel with the internal layer fabricated of an electrorheological composite are studied. Both models lead to the same governing equations accounting for

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Simulation Study on the Electric Field of Three-Phase Three-Post Insulators Under Typical Defects
In three-phase three-post insulators, air gaps and crack defects are important sources of partial discharge and surface flashover. Using finite element analysis software, this study created a three-dimensional simulation model to investigate the effect ...
