Spatial and temporal distribution of Gymnorhamphichthys rondoni (Gymnotiformes: Rhamphichthyidae) in a long-term study of an Amazonian terra firme stream, Leticia - Colombia [PDF]
Weakly electric fishes continually emit electric organ discharges (EOD) as a means of communication and localization of objects in their surroundings.

The formate pseudo‐halide anion is strategically introduced at the buried interface to stabilize the intermediate phases formed during perovskite crystallization. The controlled crystallization enhances crystallinity and alleviates tensile strain, eliminating residual PbI2 near the buried interface.

Electrical signalling of dominance in a wild population of electric fish [PDF]
Animals often use signals to communicate their dominance status and avoid the costs of combat. We investigated whether the frequency of the electric organ discharge (EOD) of the weakly electric fish, Sternarchorhynchus sp., signals the dominance status of individuals.

This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...

Electric Fishes in the River Uruguay [PDF]
IN Sir Horace Rumbold's “Great Silver River” (London, 1887), the author, when on the Upper Uruguay above Uruguayana, speaks of a “kind of Electric Eel (Gymnotus) called here Rayo or Lightning, of the effects of contact with which, very curious and unrelateable stories are told.”

Regulation and modulation of electric waveforms in gymnotiform electric fish [PDF]
Weakly electric gymnotiform fish specialize in the regulation and modulation of the action potentials that make up their multi-purpose electric signals. To produce communication signals, gymnotiform fish modulate the waveforms of their electric organ discharges (EODs) over timescales spanning ten orders of magnitude within the animal's life cycle ...

The Fish Communities of Lake-Complexes from Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve (DDBR) in Spring-Summer and Autumn of 2016 [PDF]
Fish from Danube delta spawn in spring grows over the summer and in autumn season juveniles recruit to the population. Ichthyofauna was sampled in May-July (springsummer) after spawning and September-October (autumn) after the juvenile’s recruitments.

Joule‐assisted nanotherapeutic urethral stent harnesses a smart, biodegradable magnesium stent to orchestrate spatiotemporal theragenerative therapy for urethral strictures. Magnetically induced Joule heating enables on‐demand drug release and bacterial ablation, while simultaneously guiding urothelial regeneration.

This study reveals that higher shell S coordination can effectively modulate the spin state of FeN4 site via long‐range electronic interactions, giving rise to the oriented generation of singlet oxygen from peroxymonosulfate activation. Abstract Precise manipulation of coordination structure of single‐atom sites and establishment of schematic ...
