Market power in electricity supply
IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2001Restructuring of the power industry worldwide has brought the issue of market competitiveness to the forefront. While "vertical" market power has been limited by disaggregating generation and transmission, nondiscriminatory access to the transmission system by power suppliers, and the creation of the independent system operator (ISO), "horizontal" and ...

TUNNELS - ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY.
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Civil Engineering, 1994This paper describes the electrical power supplies which were installed for the construction of the French section of the Channel Tunnel. Almost all the power consumed by the Channel Tunnel project (98%) was electrical. For an installed capacity of 85,000 kW, consumption was that of a town of 25,000 inhabitants.

Aircraft electric power-supply system
Electrical Engineering, 1943An ever increasing demand for electric power in aircraft has been felt for some time. The necessity of using an electric storage battery started the practice of accompanying it with a d-c generator, first of low current and voltage capacity, later of 50-ampere 12-volt rating, and for the past few years of 200-ampere 24-volt output.
