Interdependency Analysis in Electric Power Systems

2009
Electric Power Systems (EPS) are composed by two interdependent infrastructures: Electric Infrastructure (EI) and its Information-Technology based Control System (ITCS), which controls and manages EI. In this paper we address the interdependency analysis in EPS focusing on the cyber interdependencies between ITCS and EI, aiming to evaluate their impact

SYNCOM electrical power system.

Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1964
T Syncom satellites were developed for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center by the Hughes Aircraft Company. Syncom was designed to operate at synchronous altitude as a spin-stabilized satellite with redundant communications, telemetry and command, and attitude control subsystems. The spacecraft nominal launch weight is 147 Ib.

On the Definition of Power in an Electrical System

2007 IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2007
The definitions of power and related quantities, such as apparent power and reactive power, in sinusoidal and nonsinusoidal situations are reviewed. These definitions are compared with the physical mechanisms for the transfer of power in an electrical circuit by means of the Poynting vector.

Electric Power Systems Kit

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
This article describes the problem of practical knowledge lack in modern education system and gives the solution of the problem by creating the laboratory for the scale models production. This laboratory allows to create all 110 kV, 220 kV and 500 kV power equipment in all generally accepted scales.

Losses in electrical power systems

Electric Power Systems Research, 1977
Abstract This paper explains the losses in an electric power system. Methods of evaluation of losses in generation, transmission, distribution and consumption are introduced. An understanding of the power system losses is important not only to the power system engineer but also to the energy policy maker.

The BPX electrical power system

[Proceedings] The 14th IEEE/NPSS Symposium Fusion Engineering, 2002
The design of the BPX (Burning Plasma Experiment) power system has evolved over a period of several years and has included studies of several alternative approaches. The reapplication of the existing TFTR (Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor) power and energy facilities has been basic to all approaches.

Control of electric power systems

Systems Analysis Modelling Simulation, 2003
The increase in size and complexity of interconnected electric power systems, coupled with the industrial commitment to maximize security at a minimum cost, has led to the development of many special control devices. These control devices ensure that the electric power system is able to operate, without instability, under a wide range of system ...
