Simulation Framework for Vehicle and Electric Scooter Interaction

open access: yes2023 IEEE 26th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2023
The number of shared micro-mobility services such as electric scooters (e-scooters) has an increasing trend due to the advantages of high efficiency and low cost in short-range travel in urban areas. However, due to the unique characteristics of moving behavior, it is commonly seen that e-scooters may share the road with other motor vehicles.

Lidar‐Based Object Tracking of Traffic Participants with Sensor Nodes in Existing Urban Infrastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This paper presents a lidar‐based sensor node design and a rule‐based state observer for edge‐based traffic participant tracking. Unlike other state‐of‐the‐art methods, this state observer enables real‐time, CPU‐only edge processing without relying on machine learning approaches.

The Degradation of Access‐Based Business Models: Customer Misbehavior and Shared Mobility

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Access‐based services are considered one of the strategies to embed sustainability in business models. Yet, because the evolution of these business models has been overlooked, we do not know whether their promise to create triple value is sustained.

Navigating the Double Edge of Product‐Service Systems: User Behavior, Adoption, and Rebound Effects

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Product‐service systems (PSS) have been considered a promising approach to operationalizing the circular economy. Although many studies have outlined the potential sustainability gains of PSS solutions, it is still unclear what factors drive PSS adoption and how behavioral changes result in rebound effects, undermining their potential ...

Stackography of an electric scooter

open access: yes, 2021
Everywhere in the world’s major cities, new modes of mobility are appearing to facilitate the transportation of city dwellers. Among them, self-service scooters are considerably changing our relationship to urban space. This playful and colorful machine may be participating in a terraforming project, of which we seem to be unaware? The notion of Stack,

The Fast, the Steady and the Tenacious: Funding Pathways for Circular Start‐Ups

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Circular start‐ups (CSUs) are critical for unlocking the circular economy, yet they face persistent barriers in accessing finance. Despite growing interest from policymakers and financing institutions, little empirical evidence explains how these ventures pursue and secure funding.

Enabling Sustainability in Local Food Supply Chains: A Life Cycle Assessment‐Based Approach

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In response to escalating environmental and food security challenges, this study explores how Local Food Systems (LFS) and Short Food Supply Chains (SFSCs) can be redesigned to support sustainability goals. Drawing on a case study of a microalgae‐based food producer, the research applies a Resource Nexus Approach combined with Life Cycle ...
