Electrical Guidance of Human Stem Cells in the Rat Brain

open access: yesStem Cell Reports, 2017
Limited migration of neural stem cells in adult brain is a roadblock for the use of stem cell therapies to treat brain diseases and injuries. Here, we report a strategy that mobilizes and guides migration of stem cells in the brain in vivo.

Magnetically Induced Temporal Interference for Focal and Deep-Brain Stimulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2021
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that has been clinically applied for neural modulation. Conventional TMS systems are restricted by the trade-off between depth penetration and the focality of the ...

The impact of frailty syndrome on skeletal muscle histology: preventive effects of exercise

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Frailty syndrome exacerbates skeletal muscle degeneration via increased ECM deposition and myofiber loss. This study, using a murine model, demonstrates that endurance exercise attenuates these histopathological alterations, preserving muscle integrity. Findings support exercise as a viable strategy to counteract frailty‐induced musculoskeletal decline

Effects of direct current electric field on proliferation and biological characteristics of human adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells

open access: yesDi-san junyi daxue xuebao, 2021
Objective To investigate the effect of direct current (DC) electric field on the proliferation of human adipose-derived stem cells (hASCs) in vitro. Methods The fat tissue obtained in operation was digested with zymogen to prepare hASCs.

Electrical carotid baroreceptor stimulation [PDF]

open access: yesWiener Medizinische Wochenschrift, 2014
The Barostim neo ™ system is a novel implantable device that activates the carotid baroreflex. It decreases the sympathetic activity and inhibits the renin system, which results in reduced blood pressure and heart rate. In patients with resistant hypertension, electrically activation of the baroreflex leads to an average decrease in systolic blood ...

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

Electric Stimulation Pada Luka Kaki Diabetik: Literature Review

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Kesehatan Terpadu, 2022
Diabetic foot ulcers occur in diabetic feet due to impaired blood circulation in the legs, nervous system disorders, and infection due to decreased body immunity. One of the new interventions that can be performed on diabetic feet is electric stimulation.

Induction of slow oscillations by rhythmic acoustic stimulation [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Sleep Res. 22, 22-31 (2013), 2014
Slow oscillations are electrical potential oscillations with a spectral peak frequency of $\sim$0.8 Hz, and hallmark the electroencephalogram during slow-wave sleep. Recent studies have indicated a causal contribution of slow oscillations to the consolidation of memories during slow-wave sleep, raising the question to what extent such oscillations can ...
