Influence of electric potential-induced by atmospheric pressure plasma on cell response
Plasma irradiation leads not only active species, but also reactive chemical species, ultraviolet light, electric fields, magnetic fields, and shock waves. To date the effects of reactive chemical species have been mainly discussed.

Comparison of two models of electric neuro-stimulation and consequences for the design of retinal prostheses [PDF]
Two simple mathematical models of electric neuro-stimulation are derived and discussed. It is found that the common injected-charge model is less realistic than a model, in which a latency period, which follows after a short electric pulse, plays a role as important as the electric pulse.

Intranasal Chemosensory Lateralization Through the Multi-electrode Transcutaneous Electrical Nasal Bridge Stimulation [PDF]
Numerous studies have been conducted on display techniques for intranasal chemosensory perception. However, a limited number of studies have focused on the presentation of sensory spatial information. To artificially produce intranasal chemosensory spatial perception, we focused on a technique to induce intranasal chemosensation by transcutaneous ...

The Dynamic Shift of Neuron Excitability Observed with Enveloped High Frequency Stimulation [PDF]
Neuronal excitability is known to be affected by transcranial electrical stimulation. However, due to the existence of both excitatory and inhibitory neurons in the cortex, the mechanism of neuronal excitability shift is still not clear. Here, we study electrical stimulation disturbance on neuronal excitability in the neuromuscular system on an acute ...

Transcranial Electric Stimulation for Precision Medicine: A Spatiomechanistic Framework
During recent years, non-invasive brain stimulation, including transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) in general, and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in particular, have created new hopes for treatment of neurological and psychiatric ...

A Novel Digitalization Approach for Smart Materials – Ontology‐Based Access to Data and Models
In order to access heterogeneous material data and model‐based knowledge, the established ontology‐based data access (OBDA) is extended to include material models. This novel ontology‐based data and model access (OBDMA) enables the computation of new responses beyond stored data.
