Starting from the quasiparticle random phase approximation based on the Skyrme interaction SLy5, we study the effects of phonon-phonon coupling~(PPC) on the low-energy electric dipole response in $^{40-58}$Ca. Using the same set of parameters we describe

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Unusual local electric field concentration in multilayer ceramic capacitors
Local electric-field around multitype pores (dielectric pore, interface pore, electrode pore) in multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) was investigated using Kelvin probe force microscopy combined with the finite element simulation to understand the ...

Neural adaptations to electrical stimulation strength training [PDF]
This review provides evidence for the hypothesis that electrostimulation strength training (EST) increases the force of a maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) through neural adaptations in healthy skeletal muscle. Although electrical stimulation and voluntary effort activate muscle differently, there is substantial evidence to suggest that EST modifies ...

Magnetotransport and thermoelectricity in disordered graphene
We have studied the electric and thermal response of two-dimensional Dirac-fermions in a quantizing magnetic field in the presence of localized disorder. The electric and heat current operators in the presence of magnetic field are derived.

Numerical study of chiral magnetic effect in quenched SU(2) lattice gauge theory [PDF]
A possible experimental observation of the chiral magnetic effect in heavy ion collisions at RHIC was recently reported by the STAR Collaboration. We study signatures of this effect in SU(2) lattice gluodynamics with the chirally invariant Dirac operator.

The low cycle fatigue life of additive manufactured HAYNES® 282® superalloy was investigated for conventional and high‐productivity processing: samples of the former lasted 1400–1700 cycles, while samples of the latter failed at ~ 1200 cycles, at 760 °C and 1% strain.

There is considerable individual variability in the reported effectiveness of non-invasive brain stimulation. This variability has often been ascribed to differences in the neuroanatomy and resulting differences in the induced electric field inside the ...
