High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Strong electric fields induced on a sharp stellar boundary
Due to a first order phase transition, a compact star may have a discontinuous distribution of baryon as well as electric charge densities, as e.g. at the surface of a strange quark star.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Porcelain insulation – defining the underlying mechanism of failure
Porcelain insulators have a long history and wide application range in power systems, but just like any other insulator, they can fail. A number of pole fires occurred on lines utilising porcelain suspension insulators.

Dyonic Wormholes in 5D Kaluza-Klein Theory
New spherically symmetric dyonic solutions, describing a wormhole-like class of spacetime configurations in five-dimensional Kaluza-Klein theory, are given in an explicit form.

The growing demand for lightweight, nontoxic, and multifunctional gamma shielding materials has intensified efforts to find alternatives to conventional lead and aluminum‐based protectants. In this work, we develop epoxy quartz fabric composites reinforced with cobalt chloride (CoCl2) microparticles, fabricated via hand lay‐up with varying filler ...

Research into the possibility of improving the quality of electric arc coatings by nitriding
An effective way to effectively change the characteristics of electric arc coatings made from crushed materials can be achieved by creating high-quality surface balls in them due to the use of different methods. chemical-thermal treatment.
