The state-of-the-art of power electronics converters configurations in electric vehicle technologies

open access: yesPower Electronic Devices and Components, 2022
Today, the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) is gradually being replaced by electric motors, which results in higher efficiency and low emission of greenhouse gases. The electric vehicle either works wholly or partially on electrical energy generated from

Spatially Regulated Silicon Clusters in Trimodal Composite Anodes for High‐Energy Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A trimodal anode architecture spatially regulates silicon clusters within confined interstitial environments formed by graphite and contorted hexabenzocoronene. This confinement suppresses silicon aggregation and localized stress while enabling efficient Li‐ion transport, achieving high‐capacity, stable lithium‐ion batteries.

Research on the interaction between energy consumption and power battery life during electric vehicle acceleration

open access: yesScientific Reports
Most studies on the acceleration process of electric vehicle focus on reducing energy consumption, but do not consider the impact of the power battery discharge current and its change rate on the battery life.

Particle‐Level ZrO2 Atomic Layer Deposition Enables Fast‐Cycling and Long‐Life Graphite Cathodes for Dual‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spatial location of atomic layer deposition (ALD)‐derived ZrO2 coatings is demonstrated to be a critical design parameter for stabilizing graphite cathodes in DIBs. Direct particle‐level ALD (PALD) screening of representative metal oxides identified ZrO2 as the coating that provides the most favorable balance of high‐rate capability and interfacial ...

Customer Suitability of Electric Vehicles based on Battery-state-of-charge Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Based on German driving profiles, the paper analyses technical restrictions of EV batteries and their implications for the suitability as EVs. Minimal & maximal battery SOC curves serve as an indicator for the behavior of EV batteries.

Current variation in parallelized energy storage systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
an electric vehicle battery pack may employ cells connected electrically in parallel to meet energy and power requirements. For the battery management system, cells connected in parallel are often treated as a single larger component.

Algorithms for Battery Utilization in Electric Vehicles

open access: yesApplied Artificial Intelligence, 2014
We consider the problem of utilizing a pack of m batteries serving n current demands in electric vehicles. When serving a demand, the current allocation might be split among the batteries in the pack. A battery’s life depends on the discharge current used for supplying the requests.

Engineering a Fluorinated AlPO4 Interface: Toward High Initial Coulombic Efficiency and Stable Oxygen Redox in Li‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a chemically incorporated fluorinated AlPO4 (AlPO4‐F) architecture that functions as a multifunctional “interfacial fortress” for Li‐rich layered oxides (LLOs). By modulating the surface potential to –32.16 mV, this architecture enriches Li+ concentration and repels detrimental electrolyte anions.
