Electrical Control of Magnetization in Charge-ordered Multiferroic LuFe2O4

open access: yes, 2009
LuFe2O4 exhibits multiferroicity due to charge order on a frustrated triangular lattice. We find that the magnetization of LuFe2O4 in the multiferroic state can be electrically controlled by applying voltage pulses.

An Investigation of the Electrical Properties of Pressboard Impregnated with Mineral Oil-Based Nanofluids at Different Concentrations of Fe3O4 Magnetic Nanoparticles

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, 2022
The purpose of this study was to investigate the electrical properties of pressboard impregnated with mineral oil-based nanomaterial. The nanomaterial focused on in this study was magnetite (Fe3O4) at ratios of 0.01%, 0.03%, and 0.05% by mineral oil ...

Non-Gaussianity of resistance fluctuations near electrical breakdown

open access: yes, 2003
We study the resistance fluctuation distribution of a thin film near electrical breakdown. The film is modeled as a stationary resistor networkunder biased percolation.

Electrical polarization of nuclear spins in a breakdown regime of quantum Hall effect

open access: yes, 2006
We have developed a method for electrical polarization of nuclear spins in quantum Hall systems. In a breakdown regime of odd-integer quantum Hall effect (QHE), excitation of electrons to the upper Landau subband with opposite spin polarity dynamically ...

Electrical breakdown of carbon nanotube devices and the predictability of breakdown position

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
We have investigated electrical transport properties of long (>10 μm) multiwalled carbon nanotubes (NTs) by dividing individuals into several segments of identical length. Each segment has different resistance because of the random distribution of defect

Thermal Dissipation and Variability in Electrical Breakdown of Carbon Nanotube Devices

open access: yes, 2010
We study high-field electrical breakdown and heat dissipation from carbon nanotube (CNT) devices on SiO2 substrates. The thermal "footprint" of a CNT caused by van der Waals interactions with the substrate is revealed through molecular dynamics (MD ...

Resistance and Resistance Fluctuations in Random Resistor Networks Under Biased Percolation

open access: yes, 2002
We consider a two-dimensional random resistor network (RRN) in the presence of two competing biased percolations consisting of the breaking and recovering of elementary resistors.
