Cubic lead perovskite PbMoO3 with anomalous metallic behavior
A previously unreported Pb-based perovskite PbMoO$_3$ is obtained by high-pressure and high-temperature synthesis. This material crystallizes in the $Pm\bar{3}m$ cubic structure at room temperature, making it distinct from typical Pb-based perovskite ...

Electrical Conductance of Charged Nanopores
A nanopores's response to an electrical potential drop is characterized by its electrical conductance, \tilde{G}. It has long been thought that at low concentrations, the conductance is independent of the electrolyte concentration, \tilde{c}_0, such that \tilde{G} ~ \tilde{c}_0^0. It has been recently demonstrated that surface charge regulation changes

Dynamical electron transport through a nanoelectromechanical wire in a magnetic field
We investigate dynamical transport properties of interacting electrons moving in a vibrating nanoelectromechanical wire in a magnetic field. We have built an exactly solvable model in which electric current and mechanical oscillation are treated fully ...

Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially

Electronic structure and transport properties of Cu-deficient kuramite Cu3-xSnS4
Electrical and thermal transport properties of Cu-deficient kuramite Cu3-xSnS4 (CTS) was examined as a possible earth-abundant thermoelectric material. Crystallographic structure of CTS was characterized by partial disorder between Cu and Sn. In contrast

Electrical conduction in TiO2 [PDF]
This paper reports the results of an experimental examination of the dc and ac properties of TiO2 in single-crystalline and anodic thin-film form. The single crystal and the thin film appear to obey the same dc conductivity law Iαexp V1/2 over the range investigated. Their ac characteristics are similar as well.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Electric Conductivity of Nerves [PDF]
IN a recent number of NATURE (vol. x. p. 519) the reviewer of “The Protoplasmic Theory of Life” states broadly that few physiologists will agree with the statement in the book that the nerves are not better fitted for the conduction of electric currents than the other moist tissues, and that they possess no demonstrable apparatus for insulation of ...
