This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

A TEACHING METHOD FOR THE CHARACTERIZATION OF THE ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY WITHOUT CONTACT
This work aims to present a method to characterize the electrical conductivity of metal tubes without making contact with them. A LC circuit is implemented to detect the change in the inductance due to the conductor material within the coil.
