Energy Efficiency and Electricity Reliability
The Review of Economics and Statistics, 2021Abstract Overloaded electrical systems are a major source of unreliable power. Using a randomized saturation design, we estimate the impact of compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) on electricity reliability and household electricity consumption in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The demand for electricity seems almost insatiable. But building new power plants is costly, time-consuming and can harm the environment. A promising solution--and one the utilities themselves are pushing--is greater efficiency. Lights and motors are a good place to begin.

Efficiency assessment of Electric Propulsion Systems for electric vehicles
2016 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM), 2016An efficiency analysis of different configurations of Electric Propulsion Systems (EPSs) is presented in this paper. Particularly, three different Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSMs) have been considered as the electric motor, which are characterized by different speed operating ranges and constant-power speed regions.

Efficiency of Electricity Distribution
2012In this chapter we show that, because of utility heterogeneities efficiency measurement is a demanding task. Electricity distribution is a natural monopoly industry and consequently there is a need for regulation. Efficiency measurement of distribution utilities is essential to achieve accurate information of ingredients for the efficient regulation ...

Efficient Electricity in Stockholm
Energy Sources, 1994Abstract In 1987 Stockholm Energi began to build a marketing department with the intention of focusing on the customer. A program for efficient electricity end use was formulated, but a gap has now appeared between the original grand plan and its inferior implementation. First, ambitions were too high.

Energy Efficiency in Electric Motors
2021Electric motors are electrical machines that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy to perform useful work. In general, electric motors have three main parts: a rotor, a stator, and a commutator. These three parts use the attractive and repulsive forces of electromagnetism, causing the motor to spin continually so long as it receives a steady

ENERGY EFFICIENT ELECTRIC DRIVES ELECTRIC FORKLIFT
POWER ENGINEERING: economics, technique, ecology, 2018It is conducted a comparative analysis of electric motors with different types of electric motors (DC, induction, synchronous with permanent magnets). It is shown that the mass dimensions and efficiency of the most promising electric drive is synchronous motor with permanent magnets.

Effect of high-efficient electric motors on efficiency improvement and electric energy saving
2008 Third International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation and Restructuring and Power Technologies, 2008In this paper, advantages of energy-efficient motors over standard-motors in terms of electrical energy saving and demand reduction in a tire-rubber factory are thoroughly evaluated. Energy-efficient motors reduce losses because of their better design, materials, and manufacturing. These motors are 2 to 8% more efficient than standard ones. Lengthening

Electricity cost efficient workload mapping
2013 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS), 2013In this thesis, we formulate a generalized optimization problem to minimize the electricity cost of network operation while using techniques applicable to operational networks. We applied our optimization formulation to two different networks: geo-diverse data centers and cellular networks.
