Inductively coupled on-line impedance measurement for condition monitoring of electrical equipment

open access: yes, 2018
Off-line periodic maintenance has been used to keep critical electrical equipment in good condition. However, there is an increasing demand for on-line condition monitoring of the electrical equipment for preventive maintenance purposes.

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Improving the Current Spreading by Locally Modulating the Doping Type in the n-AlGaN Layer for AlGaN-Based Deep Ultraviolet Light-Emitting Diodes

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2019
In this report, we locally modulate the doping type in the n-AlGaN layer by proposing n-AlGaN/p-AlGaN/n-AlGaN (NPN-AlGaN)-structured current spreading layer for AlGaN-based deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (DUV LEDs). After inserting a thin p-AlGaN

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
